Poliwag

Poliwag is a Water-type Tadpole Pokémon, first introduced in Generation I of the Pokémon franchise. It is renowned for the distinctive swirl on its belly, which spins faster when the Pokémon is agitated, and its translucent skin that allows its internal organs to be seen. Poliwag primarily inhabits freshwater environments such as ponds, lakes, and rivers, where it can be found swimming gracefully with its powerful tail. Its diet consists mainly of small aquatic insects and plants. Poliwag evolves into Poliwhirl starting at level 25, which then has two possible evolutions: Politoed when traded holding a King's Rock, or Poliwrath when exposed to a Water Stone. In the games, Poliwag is a common early-game Water-type that can be a valuable addition to a player's team, while in the anime, Misty, one of Ash's companions, famously catches a Poliwag that eventually evolves into a Politoed. Its adorable design and accessible nature have made it a beloved Pokémon across generations, representing the early stages of aquatic life in the Pokémon world.
