Sandile is a Ground/Dark type Pokémon first introduced in Generation V with the release of Pokémon Black and White. Known as the Desert Croc Pokémon, Sandile is characterized by its ability to move just beneath the desert sands, with only its nose and eyes protruding. This adaptation allows it to navigate its arid environment and ambush unsuspecting prey. Its eyes are protected by a dark membrane that shields them from the harsh desert sun, a crucial feature for survival in such bright conditions. Sandile typically inhabits deserts and other sandy regions, often found in groups. It evolves into Krokorok starting at level 29, and then into Krookodile starting at level 40. In the games, Sandile often plays a role as an early-game encounter in desert areas, providing players with a unique type combination. In the anime, Ash Ketchum famously caught a Sandile that later evolved into a Krookodile, showcasing its strong personality and battling prowess. Its dual typing of Ground and Dark gives it interesting matchups, being immune to Electric-type attacks and resistant to Psychic and Ghost, but vulnerable to Water, Grass, Ice, Fighting, Bug, and Fairy types.
