Sandile is a Ground/Dark type Pokémon introduced in Generation V, hailing from the arid Unova region. Known as the Desert Croc Pokémon, it resembles a small, sandy-colored crocodile or alligator, often seen with dark, mask-like markings around its eyes, which are believed to protect them from the harsh desert sun. Sandile typically buries itself in the desert sand, with only its eyes and snout exposed, waiting for unsuspecting prey to pass by. Despite its predatory nature, the Pokédex entry for this specific card notes that Sandile is "still not good at hunting," suggesting a more opportunistic feeding strategy, often consuming things that have already collapsed in the desert, earning it the moniker "the cleaner of the desert." It evolves into Krokorok at level 29, and then into Krookodile at level 40. In the anime, Ash Ketchum catches a Sandile in the episode "A Sandile Challenge!", and it becomes a recurring character throughout his Unova journey, eventually evolving into Krookodile.
