Noctowl

Noctowl is a dual-type Normal/Flying Pokémon introduced in Generation II. Known as the Owl Pokémon, it is the evolved form of Hoothoot, reaching this stage through leveling up. Noctowl is distinguished by its keen eyesight, allowing it to spot prey even in pitch darkness, and its ability to rotate its head 180 degrees to sharpen its intellectual power, a trait often highlighted in its Pokédex entries. These nocturnal predators typically inhabit forests and woodlands, preying on small rodents and insects. In the games, Noctowl is a reliable Flying-type option for trainers, often valued for its access to status-inducing moves and decent Special Attack. Ash Ketchum famously caught a Shiny Noctowl in the anime, making it one of his most iconic Pokémon and significantly boosting its popularity among fans. Its calm and wise demeanor also contributes to its cultural significance, often depicted as a symbol of wisdom and vigilance. Its Normal/Flying typing gives it an immunity to Ghost-type attacks and resistance to Grass and Bug, though it is weak to Electric, Ice, and Rock.
