Surskit is a Bug/Water-type Pokémon first introduced in Generation III, hailing from the Hoenn region. Known as the Pond Skater Pokémon, Surskit is renowned for its unique ability to glide across the surface of water as if it were ice skating, a behavior inspired by real-life pond skaters. This agility on water allows it to evade predators and also to draw in prey. It secretes a sweet, honey-like scent from the tip of its head, which it uses to lure unsuspecting Bug Pokémon. Surskit primarily inhabits ponds, lakes, and other freshwater bodies, often seen in groups. Its diet consists mainly of aquatic microorganisms and smaller insects. Surskit evolves into Masquerain starting at level 22, acquiring the Flying type in addition to its Bug typing. In the games, Surskit often appears early on, providing players with a useful Water-type option. In the anime, it has been featured in episodes showcasing its water-skating abilities and its role in various ecosystems. Its distinct appearance, with its large blue body, four long legs, and a cream-colored cap, makes it easily recognizable and a beloved early-game Pokémon for many fans.
