Silcoon

Silcoon is known as the Cocoon Pokémon, a Bug-type creature introduced in Generation III, specifically in the Hoenn region. It is one of two possible evolutions for Wurmple, evolving at level 7 during the daytime, while Cascoon evolves at night. Silcoon's body is covered in a hard, white, spiky shell, which protects its soft interior as it prepares for its next evolutionary stage. These Pokémon are typically found in forests, clinging to tree branches, where they remain almost entirely motionless, conserving energy. Their diet consists primarily of tree sap, which they absorb through their cocoons. In the anime, Ash's rival, Drew, owned a Silcoon that evolved into a Beautifly, showcasing its elegance and battle potential. Silcoon's evolutionary line, with its branching path, was a unique mechanic in the games, adding an element of surprise to Wurmple's development. In the TCG, Silcoon often serves as a Stage 1 Pokémon, bridging the gap between its basic form and its more powerful Stage 2 evolutions. Its role typically revolves around setting up for its final form, often with defensive abilities mirroring its cocoon state.
