Rockruff is a quadrupedal, canine Pokémon with light brown fur, a white muzzle, and large, floppy ears. Introduced in Generation VII with the Alola region, it is known as the Puppy Pokémon and is a pure Rock-type. Rockruff is particularly famous for its unique evolutionary line, evolving into Lycanroc, which has three distinct forms (Midday, Midnight, and Dusk Form) depending on the time of day it evolves and specific game conditions. In the wild, Rockruff are known for their friendly and affectionate nature, often rubbing their rough necks against trainers as a sign of affection, despite the discomfort it might cause. They are also known to be very loyal and brave, standing up to much larger Pokémon despite their small size. Rockruff primarily inhabit mountainous and rocky areas, where they hone their battling skills by playing with other Rockruff. Their diet consists mainly of mineral-rich rocks.
