Zubat is a dual-type Poison/Flying Pokémon first introduced in Generation I. Known as the Bat Pokémon, Zubat are typically found in caves and dark places, often in large colonies. They lack eyes and instead navigate and hunt using ultrasonic waves emitted from their mouths, making them highly adapted to their subterranean environments. Their diet primarily consists of the blood of other creatures, which they consume while their prey sleeps. Zubat evolves into Golbat starting at level 22, and then into Crobat when leveled up with high friendship. In the games, Zubat and its evolutions are common encounters in caves, sometimes to the frustration of players due to their high encounter rate. In the anime, Zubat often appear as wild Pokémon or as part of a trainer's team, showcasing their echolocation abilities and sometimes their mischievous nature. Their iconic status as a common cave-dweller has made them a recognizable symbol of early Pokémon adventures.
