Poochyena

Poochyena is a Dark-type Pokémon introduced in Generation III, hailing from the Hoenn region. Known as the Bite Pokémon, it is often found in grasslands and forests, frequently traveling in packs. Its diet primarily consists of smaller Pokémon and berries, and it is characterized by its persistent and somewhat aggressive nature, often chasing anything that moves in hopes of a meal. Poochyena evolves into Mightyena starting at level 18. In the games, Poochyena is a common early-game encounter, often serving as a player's first wild Pokémon battle. Its Dark typing gives it advantages against Psychic and Ghost types, but it is vulnerable to Fighting, Bug, and Fairy moves. In the anime, Poochyena are often depicted as mischievous but loyal companions, notably appearing with Team Rocket's Grimer and Muk in some episodes. Culturally, Poochyena embodies the wild, untamed spirit of early Pokémon encounters, representing the initial challenges and excitement of a new journey in the Hoenn region. Its design, reminiscent of a hyena or wolf cub, contributes to its appeal as a fierce yet endearing creature.
