Morpeko is a unique dual-type Electric/Dark Pokémon introduced in Generation VIII, native to the Galar region. Known as the Two-Sided Pokémon, Morpeko is characterized by its ever-hungry nature and its ability to switch between two distinct forms: Full Belly Mode and Hangry Mode. In Full Belly Mode, it appears cheerful with a yellow-and-brown coloration, while in Hangry Mode, it becomes aggressive with purple-and-black fur, driven by intense hunger. This transformation is directly tied to its unique ability, Hunger Switch, which changes its type and appearance at the end of each turn in the main series games. Morpeko typically lives in forests and grasslands, often foraging for berries. Its diet primarily consists of seeds and berries, which it carries in its cheek pouches. When hungry, it generates electricity in its pouches, causing its mood to shift dramatically. Morpeko does not evolve from or into any other Pokémon, making it a standalone creature. In the Pokémon anime, Morpeko gained prominence as Marnie's signature Pokémon, often depicted with its contrasting moods. Its unique design and relatable hunger pangs have made it a fan favorite, highlighting the diverse and often quirky inhabitants of the Pokémon world.
