Lairon

Lairon is a dual Steel/Rock-type Pokémon, introduced in Generation III, hailing from the Hoenn region. It is the evolved form of Aron and the pre-evolution of Aggron, forming a formidable three-stage evolutionary line. Known for its heavily armored body, Lairon inhabits mountainous regions and caves, where it forages for iron ore and minerals to consume, which helps strengthen its steel-like hide. Its diet of iron is crucial for its development, as it sheds its steel plating when it evolves, and then consumes the shed plating to replenish its body. Lairon are territorial and will often clash with other Lairon over mining sites. In the games, Lairon is a bulky physical attacker with high Defense, making it a reliable tank. It has featured in the Pokémon anime, often depicted in its natural habitat, showcasing its strength and defensive capabilities. Its Steel/Rock typing gives it numerous resistances, but also notable weaknesses, making strategic use essential.
