Swampert, the Mud Fish Pokémon, is a dual Water/Ground-type Pokémon introduced in Generation III, making its debut in the Hoenn region with the games Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. It is the final evolution of Mudkip, evolving from Marshtomp. Known for its incredible physical strength, Swampert can easily pull boulders weighing over a ton and swim at speeds comparable to jet skis. Its powerful arms are capable of delivering devastating blows, and its vision allows it to see even in murky water. Swampert typically inhabits swamps and coastal areas, where it builds nests along the water's edge. In the anime, Ash's rival Harrison famously owned a Swampert, showcasing its battle prowess. In the games, Swampert is a popular choice for trainers due to its strong offensive and defensive stats, as well as its unique typing which grants it an immunity to Electric-type attacks, a common weakness for Water-type Pokémon. Its Ground typing, however, gives it a crippling 4x weakness to Grass-type attacks. Swampert's design, blending aquatic and terrestrial features, has made it a fan favorite and a memorable starter evolution from the Hoenn region.
