Kakuna is a Bug/Poison-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I, evolving from Weedle and into Beedrill. It is known as the "Cocoon Pokémon," aptly named for its appearance as a hardened, yellow chrysalis. Kakuna spends its days immobile, clinging to trees, preparing for its next evolution. While seemingly dormant, it is highly alert to its surroundings and can sting fiercely if disturbed, using the venom it developed as a Weedle. Its shell is incredibly tough, providing excellent defense against predators during this vulnerable stage of metamorphosis. Kakuna are typically found in forests and wooded areas, often camouflaged among the leaves. In the Pokémon anime, Ash's Caterpie briefly evolved into Metapod, a similar cocoon Pokémon, highlighting the theme of transformation.
