Kakuna

Kakuna is the Cocoon Pokémon, a Bug/Poison type introduced in Generation I. It is the evolved form of Weedle and evolves into Beedrill. Kakuna are typically found in forests and wooded areas, often clinging to trees as they undergo their metamorphosis. Their primary defense mechanism is to harden their shell, making them incredibly tough and resistant to physical attacks, though they are largely immobile during this stage. They subsist on the nutrients stored from their time as a Weedle, slowly transforming within their hard casing. In the games, Kakuna is often encountered in early-game forests, serving as a transitional stage that players must train through to obtain the more powerful Beedrill. In the anime, Ash's capture of a Weedle that quickly evolved into Kakuna, and then Beedrill, highlighted its rapid transformation. Its iconic hardened shell and the anticipation of its evolution have made Kakuna a recognizable and culturally significant part of the Pokémon franchise, representing a stage of growth and resilience.
