Ivysaur

Ivysaur is a dual-type Grass/Poison Pokémon, serving as the evolved form of Bulbasaur and the pre-evolution of Venusaur. Introduced in Generation I, Ivysaur is easily recognizable by the large bud on its back, which is said to absorb sunlight to grow and prepare for its eventual blooming into Venusaur. This bud also releases a sweet aroma when it is ready to blossom, attracting other Pokémon. Ivysaur are known to be more robust than Bulbasaur, capable of using stronger Grass and Poison-type attacks. They typically inhabit grasslands and forests, often found basking in the sun to nourish the bud on their backs. In the anime, Ash's Bulbasaur famously refused to evolve into Ivysaur, showcasing its strong will, while other trainers, like May, successfully evolved their Bulbasaur. Ivysaur's role in the games is as a reliable mid-stage evolution, offering a balance of offensive and defensive capabilities before reaching its final powerful form. Its type combination gives it weaknesses to Fire, Ice, Flying, and Psychic types, but resistances to Water, Electric, Grass, Fighting, and Fairy types.
