Ho-Oh is a legendary Fire/Flying-type Pokémon, revered as the guardian of the skies and the bringer of rainbows. Introduced in Generation II, Ho-Oh is a singular entity with no evolutionary line, embodying themes of resurrection and new beginnings. Its lore states that it once resided at the Brass Tower in Ecruteak City but fled when the tower burned down, subsequently resurrecting three Pokémon that perished in the fire as Raikou, Entei, and Suicune. Ho-Oh is known for its vibrant, rainbow-colored wings and is said to bring happiness to those who witness it. In the games, it is typically found at the top of the Tin Tower (later renamed Bell Tower) and often appears as a central figure in the Johto region's mythology. Its type combination gives it a unique set of strengths and weaknesses; it is powerful against Grass, Bug, Ice, and Fighting types, but vulnerable to Rock, Electric, and Water attacks. Ho-Oh has made significant appearances in the anime, most notably being the first legendary Pokémon Ash Ketchum ever saw, sparking his journey.
