Flapple is a Grass/Dragon-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VIII, residing in the Galar region. It is one of two possible evolutions for Applin, the other being Appletun, and both evolve when Applin is exposed to a specific type of apple. Flapple evolves after consuming a Tart Apple, which grants it a more aggressive, aerodynamic form, contrasting with Appletun's more defensive, ground-bound appearance from a Sweet Apple. Its body is essentially an Applin encased within a tart apple, which it uses as armor and a means of flight. Flapple is known for its ability to fly by flapping its apple wings and expelling a corrosive, acidic fluid from its mouth, which can melt through opponents. In the Pokémon games, Flapple is a formidable special attacker with good speed, often utilizing moves like Grav Apple, a signature move that deals damage and lowers the target's Defense. Its unique typing provides it with resistances to Electric, Grass, and Water, but also leaves it vulnerable to Ice, Flying, Poison, Bug, Dragon, and Fairy types. In the anime, Flapple has made appearances showcasing its aerial combat prowess and its connection to its pre-evolution, Applin, highlighting the diverse evolutionary paths within the Pokémon world. Its design, inspired by a worm in an apple, embodies a whimsical yet powerful interpretation of its natural habitat.
