Meowth, the Scratch Cat Pokémon, is a Normal-type Pokémon first introduced in Generation I. It is famous for its love of shiny objects, particularly coins, and its signature move, Pay Day. Meowth evolves into Persian starting at level 28. In the Pokémon anime, a talking Meowth is a prominent member of Team Rocket, providing comic relief and often acting as a translator for other Pokémon, which has significantly boosted its cultural recognition beyond the games. Meowth's natural habitat often includes urban areas and human settlements, as it is drawn to the presence of people and their possessions.
