Dustox is a Bug/Poison-type Pokémon introduced in Generation III, evolving from Cascoon, which itself evolves from Wurmple. Known for its nocturnal habits, Dustox is often found fluttering around streetlights in search of food, primarily the leaves of trees. Its wings are covered in a fine, toxic powder that it scatters to deter predators. During the day, Dustox rests camouflaged among tree branches. In the Pokémon games, Dustox is a common early-game Bug-type that can be useful for its access to status-inducing moves. In the anime, Jessie of Team Rocket famously owned a Dustox, which she eventually released to find a mate, a poignant moment highlighting the Pokémon's life cycle and natural instincts. Its design, reminiscent of a moth, gives it a distinct appearance among its insectoid counterparts, often seen as the counterpart to Beautifly.
