Chinchou is a dual-type Water/Electric Pokémon introduced in Generation II, making its debut in the Johto region. Known as the Angler Pokémon, it evolves into Lanturn starting at level 27. It thrives in the dark ocean floor, where its flashing lights are its primary means of interaction. Its diet consists mainly of small fish and other marine organisms drawn to its light.
