Mawile, the Deceiver Pokémon, is a Steel/Fairy type creature introduced in Generation III, initially as a Steel type before gaining its Fairy typing in Generation VI. This dual typing makes it unique, offering strong defensive capabilities against many common offensive types. Mawile's most striking feature is the massive, jaw-like appendage on the back of its head, which it uses to lure unsuspecting prey with its cute, innocent appearance before striking. This predatory behavior is reflected in its Pokédex entries, which often describe it as cunning and deceptive. In the games, Mawile is known for its ability to Mega Evolve, transforming into Mega Mawile and gaining a significant boost to its attack and ability, Huge Power, which doubles its attack stat. It typically resides in caves and rocky areas, where it can blend into its surroundings and ambush its prey. Its diet consists of smaller Pokémon, which it ensnares with its powerful jaws. Mawile has made appearances in the Pokémon anime, often depicted as a mischievous but not inherently evil Pokémon, sometimes assisting trainers or other Pokémon.
