Vileplume, the Flower Pokémon, is a Grass/Poison-type creature introduced in Generation I. It is the final evolution of Oddish, evolving from Gloom when exposed to a Leaf Stone. Vileplume is known for its massive, vibrant red flower, which is the largest in the world and capable of releasing highly toxic pollen. Despite its beautiful appearance, Vileplume's pollen can cause severe allergic reactions and even paralysis. It typically inhabits grasslands and forests, often found near bodies of water where its pre-evolutions thrive. In the anime, Vileplume has been featured in various episodes, often showcasing its potent pollen and sometimes its less aggressive, more serene side. Its design is inspired by the Rafflesia arnoldii, a real-world parasitic plant known for its enormous, foul-smelling flower. In the games, Vileplume is a solid special attacker with decent bulk, making it a reliable choice for many trainers. Its unique typing gives it resistances to Grass, Electric, Fighting, and Fairy types, but also weaknesses to Fire, Flying, Ice, and Psychic.
