Trevenant, the Elder Tree Pokémon, is a dual-type Ghost/Grass Pokémon introduced in Generation VI. It evolves from Phantump when traded, or by using a Link Cable in Legends: Arceus. According to the Pokédex, Trevenant can control other trees by communicating with them through its roots, allowing it to ensnare those who harm the forest. It is known to be protective of the forest and the Pokémon living within it, sometimes leading lost people out of the woods, but also trapping those who seek to destroy its home. Its natural habitat is deep within ancient forests, where it blends seamlessly with the surrounding trees. Trevenant's unique design, resembling a haunted tree, has made it a memorable figure in the Pokémon universe, often appearing in spooky-themed episodes and games. As a Ghost/Grass type, it has a complex type matchup, being weak to Fire, Flying, Ice, Ghost, and Dark moves, while resisting Water, Electric, Grass, Ground, and Fighting, and being immune to Normal and Fighting moves (in the main series games). Its role often involves providing a defensive presence with status conditions or strong Grass-type attacks.
