Trevenant, the Elder Tree Pokémon, is a dual Grass/Ghost-type introduced in Generation VI. It is the evolved form of Phantump, which evolves when traded. These spectral trees are known for inhabiting deep forests, where they are said to control other Grass-type Pokémon. Trevenant are often depicted as guardians of the forest, guiding lost travelers out of the woods, though they are also known to trap those who harm the forest. Their hollow bodies and single, glowing red eye give them an eerie yet majestic appearance. In the games, Trevenant has a notable ability, Natural Cure, which heals status conditions upon switching out. It has also appeared in the Pokémon anime, often playing roles related to forest protection or mysterious phenomena. Its unique type combination gives it resistances to Water, Grass, Electric, Fighting, Ground, and Normal, while being weak to Flying, Ghost, Fire, Ice, and Dark. Trevenant's design draws inspiration from traditional Japanese folklore of kodama or yōkai associated with trees.
