Its body is covered in venomous spikes, and it preys on Corsola, dissolving them with its potent toxins. In the games, it is celebrated for its incredibly high Special Defense and Defense stats, making it a formidable wall in competitive play. Its ability, Merciless, further enhances its offensive capabilities against poisoned opponents. In the anime, a recurring Toxapex is seen as a rival to Ash's Mareanie (which eventually evolves into Toxapex for Team Rocket's James). Its unique design, inspired by the crown-of-thorns starfish, contributes to its distinct presence within the Pokémon universe, embodying both beauty and danger.
