Tentacool

Tentacool is a Water/Poison type Pokémon introduced in Generation I, known for its gelatinous, bell-shaped body and two long tentacles. It typically inhabits the ocean, often found in shallow waters or clinging to rocks, waiting for prey. Its diet primarily consists of small fish and plankton, which it ensnares with its stinging tentacles. Tentacool is frequently depicted as a common, sometimes bothersome, marine Pokémon in the anime, often appearing in large groups, such as when it and its evolved form, Tentacruel, cause trouble for Ash and his friends. It evolves into Tentacruel starting at level 30. In the games, Tentacool is a ubiquitous encounter in many water routes, making it a familiar sight for players traversing the Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and other regions. Its dual typing gives it unique matchups, being strong against Fire, Ground, Rock, and Fairy types, but vulnerable to Electric and Psychic attacks. Despite its commonality, Tentacool plays a consistent role in the Pokémon world as a foundational aquatic species.
