Numel, the Numb Pokémon, is a dual Fire/Ground type creature introduced in Generation III. Known for its perpetually docile and somewhat dim-witted demeanor, Numel has a hump on its back that contains molten magma. This magma can reach temperatures of 2,200 degrees Fahrenheit, but Numel itself remains unaware of the intense heat it carries. Its body is covered in a thick, heat-resistant hide, allowing it to comfortably inhabit volcanic regions and areas with active lava flows. Numel evolves into Camerupt, another Fire/Ground type, starting at level 33. In the games, Numel is often found in areas like Fiery Path in the Hoenn region, reflecting its affinity for hot environments. Its diet primarily consists of mineral-rich volcanic ash, which contributes to the quality of the magma in its hump. Despite its calm nature, when angered, the magma in its hump can erupt, causing it to become temporarily more agile and dangerous. Numel's design and concept highlight the unique geological features of the Hoenn region, emphasizing the interplay of fire and earth.
