Rayquaza, the Sky High Pokémon, is a legendary Dragon/Flying-type Pokémon first introduced in Generation III, specifically in the Hoenn region games Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. It is renowned as the guardian of the ozone layer and is said to have descended to quell the epic clash between Kyogre and Groudon. Rayquaza is unique in that it does not evolve from or into any other Pokémon, nor does it have any pre-evolutions. Its natural habitat is the ozone layer, where it constantly flies, and it is rarely seen by humans. Its diet is unknown, but its immense power suggests it sustains itself through natural energy absorption rather than conventional food. In the games, Rayquaza plays a pivotal role in the storyline of Pokémon Emerald, where it is the only Pokémon capable of stopping the destructive battle between the two other legendary titans.
