Rattata

Rattata is a Normal-type Pokémon that was first introduced in Generation I of the Pokémon franchise. Known as the Mouse Pokémon, it is a small, quadrupedal rodent with purple fur, a cream-colored belly, and large, pointed ears. Its most distinctive features are its prominent incisors, which grow continuously throughout its life and require constant gnawing on hard objects to keep them worn down. Rattata is highly adaptable and can be found in a wide variety of habitats, from urban areas to forests and caves. It is a common sight in many regions and is often one of the first Pokémon encountered by trainers. In the games, Rattata evolves into Raticate starting at level 20. Its speed and ability to learn a diverse range of moves, including Quick Attack and Hyper Fang, make it a surprisingly versatile early-game Pokémon. In the anime, Rattata often appears as a mischievous or common wild Pokémon, sometimes causing minor trouble for Ash and his friends. Culturally, Rattata represents the ubiquitous and often underestimated presence of small creatures in the Pokémon world, a foundational element of the series' ecosystem.
