Professor Birch

Professor Birch is a prominent figure in the Hoenn region of the Pokémon world, serving as the resident Pokémon Professor. He specializes in Pokémon habitats and distribution, often conducting field research which sometimes leads him into comical predicaments, such as being chased by wild Pokémon. Birch is known for his kind and somewhat clumsy demeanor, and he is responsible for entrusting new trainers with their first partner Pokémon: Treecko, Torchic, or Mudkip. Introduced in Generation III with the release of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, he plays a crucial role in initiating the player's journey.
