Piers

Piers is not a Pokémon, but rather a Gym Leader from the Galar region, introduced in the Generation VIII Pokémon games, Pokémon Sword and Shield. He is the older brother of Marnie and specializes in Dark-type Pokémon. Piers is known for his unique approach to being a Gym Leader; he prefers to perform as a musician and singer, often incorporating his performances into his Gym battles. His town, Spikemuth, lacks a proper stadium and Dynamax energy, which makes his Gym challenge quite distinct from the others in Galar. Piers is portrayed as a somewhat melancholic but deeply caring individual, especially towards his younger sister and his hometown. He values the traditional aspects of Pokémon battling and music, often expressing disdain for the commercialization of the Gym Challenge. His signature Pokémon is Obstagoon. In the anime, Piers also makes appearances, further solidifying his role as a charismatic and unconventional character within the Pokémon universe. His design, characterized by his punk rock aesthetic and monochrome color palette with magenta accents, makes him instantly recognizable and popular among fans.
