Morpeko is a unique dual-type Electric/Dark Pokémon introduced in Generation VIII, native to the Galar region. Known as the Two-Sided Pokémon, Morpeko is famous for its distinctive ability, Hunger Switch, which causes it to change between its Full Belly Mode and Hangry Mode at the end of each turn. This transformation dramatically alters its appearance and the typing of its signature move, Aura Wheel. In its Full Belly Mode, Morpeko is cheerful and Electric-type, while in Hangry Mode, it becomes aggressive and Dark-type, reflecting its intense hunger. Its diet primarily consists of berries and seeds, which it stores in its cheek pouches, similar to a hamster. However, if these pouches remain empty for too long, Morpeko's hunger can become an insatiable rage, leading it to commit "evil deeds" as described in its Pokédex entries, highlighting a mischievous and unpredictable nature. Morpeko does not evolve from or into any other Pokémon, making it a standalone creature in the Pokémon world. In the games, it's often associated with Marnie, one of the Gym Leaders and rivals in Pokémon Sword and Shield, who has a Morpeko as her partner Pokémon, further cementing its place in the franchise's lore.
