Clefairy evolves from Cleffa when leveled up with high friendship during the night, and then into Clefable when exposed to a Moon Stone. In the games, Clefairy is often an early-game Pokémon that can be surprisingly powerful due to its diverse move pool. In the anime, it gained prominence in early episodes, particularly with its association with Professor Oak and its role in some of Ash's adventures.
