Meowth

Meowth, the Scratch Cat Pokémon, is a Normal-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It is well-known for its distinctive coin-shaped charm on its forehead and its unique ability to speak human languages, a trait often attributed to its desire to fit into human society. Meowth is the pre-evolution of Persian and has a regional variant in Alola, Alolan Meowth, which evolves into Alolan Persian, and a Galarian form, Galarian Meowth, which evolves into Perrserker. Its natural habitat often includes urban environments where it can scavenge for shiny objects and food. In the wild, Meowth are nocturnal and often form small groups. Its diet consists of various foods, but it particularly enjoys collecting shiny objects, which it hoards. Meowth plays a significant role in the Pokémon anime as a prominent member of Team Rocket, often providing comic relief and showcasing its unique linguistic skills. Its evolution, Persian, is also famously the pet of Team Rocket's boss, Giovanni, further cementing its place in the franchise's lore. Its Normal typing means it is only weak to Fighting-type moves and resistant to none, making it a fairly neutral combatant in the early games.
