Mankey

Mankey is a Fighting-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I, first appearing in the Kanto region. Known as the Pig Monkey Pokémon, Mankey is instantly recognizable by its short, light-pink fur, a pig-like snout, and its perpetually angry expression. Its behavior is characterized by extreme aggression; it can spontaneously become enraged, rampaging indiscriminately until it exhausts itself. This volatile nature is a central part of its identity, often leading to it being depicted in a state of fury. Mankey evolves into Primeape, a more powerful and even more irascible Fighting-type. In the games, Mankey is often found in grassy areas and forests, serving as an early-game staple for many trainers. In the anime, Ash Ketchum famously caught a Mankey that evolved into Primeape, highlighting its combative spirit. Mankey’s cultural significance lies in its role as one of the original 151 Pokémon, a symbol of the franchise's enduring legacy, and a fan favorite for its distinct personality. Its fighting type gives it advantages against Normal, Ice, Rock, Dark, and Steel types, while being weak to Flying, Psychic, and Fairy types.
