Kabuto

Kabuto is a Fossil Pokémon from the Kanto region, making its debut in Generation I of the Pokémon franchise. This ancient creature is a dual-type Rock/Water Pokémon, notable for its distinctive dome-shaped shell and two small, red eyes. Kabuto is a prehistoric arthropod, often found revived from Fossils, specifically the Dome Fossil. Its evolution line consists of Kabuto evolving into Kabutops at Level 30. In the games, Kabuto is often presented as a choice alongside Omanyte, another Fossil Pokémon, allowing players to pick between two distinct ancient species. Kabuto’s natural habitat, before its extinction and subsequent revival, was the ocean floor, where it would hide from predators. Its diet likely consisted of smaller marine organisms. While not a central figure in the anime, Kabuto and its evolved form, Kabutops, represent the mystery and wonder of prehistoric life within the Pokémon world, often featuring in episodes or movies that explore ancient Pokémon. Its unique appearance and scientific basis in real-world trilobites contribute to its cultural significance as a symbol of Pokémon’s diverse and imaginative creature design. The Rock/Water typing gives it resistances to Fire, Flying, Ice, and Normal types, but also makes it vulnerable to Electric, Fighting, Ground, and Grass types.
