Happiny, the Playhouse Pokémon, is a Normal-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IV. It is the pre-evolution of Chansey and Blissey, evolving from Happiny when holding an Oval Stone during the day, and then into Blissey with high friendship. Happiny is known for its cheerful demeanor and its habit of carrying a small, smooth, white rock in its pouch, mimicking its evolved form Chansey, which carries an egg. These rocks are often mistaken for eggs, and Happiny will sometimes offer them to others, particularly those it likes. Its playful nature is central to its character, often seen wandering around, sometimes tripping people with its rock. In the Pokémon games, Happiny is typically found in specific locations like the Trophy Garden or through breeding its evolved forms. In the anime, Brock famously owned a Happiny that he received as an egg, which eventually evolved into a Chansey and then a Blissey, often showcasing its incredible strength despite its small size. Its evolution line is iconic for its role as healers and supporters in the Pokémon world, with Blissey being a formidable special defense tank. Happiny's charm and unique evolution method contribute to its appeal within the franchise.
