Gyarados

Gyarados, the Atrocious Pokémon, is a dual Water/Flying-type introduced in Generation I. It is the evolved form of the notoriously weak Magikarp, a transformation that symbolizes perseverance and immense power. Gyarados is perhaps one of the most dramatic evolutionary leaps in the Pokémon world, changing from a virtually useless flopping fish into a terrifying, serpentine beast capable of immense destruction. Its lore often depicts it as a creature of wrath, capable of leveling cities when angered, especially during storms. In the anime, Gyarados has been featured prominently, notably as Lance's powerful partner and in various episodes showcasing its destructive capabilities and imposing presence. Its design, reminiscent of traditional Asian dragons, lends to its cultural significance as a symbol of power and transformation. Despite its Water typing, its Flying typing is often attributed to its ability to leap incredibly high and its dragon-like appearance, though it cannot learn the HM Fly. Gyarados is a fan favorite, admired for its dramatic evolution and formidable strength in both the games and the TCG, often playing a key role in competitive teams.
