Goomy is a Dragon-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VI, native to the Kalos region. Known as the Soft Tissue Pokémon, it is one of the weakest Dragon-types, relying on its slimy body to protect itself from attacks. Its body is covered in a membrane that keeps it moist, and it prefers damp, shady places to live, often found near bogs and marshes. Goomy evolves into Sliggoo at level 40, and then into Goodra when leveled up during rain in the overworld or in certain areas in later games. Goomy’s diet consists mainly of moss and small plants, which it consumes by absorbing them through its skin. Its timid and gentle nature makes it a popular Pokémon among trainers, despite its initial weakness. In the anime, Ash's Goomy, later Goodra, was a prominent and powerful member of his team, showcasing its journey from a vulnerable creature to a formidable force. Goomy's design, inspired by slugs and other soft-bodied invertebrates, contributes to its unique appeal and its distinct role within the Dragon-type family, which often features more intimidating Pokémon. Its evolution line highlights a significant transformation from defenseless to robust, embodying themes of growth and resilience.
