Giratina is a legendary Ghost/Dragon-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IV as the mascot of Pokémon Platinum. It is known as the Renegade Pokémon, residing in the Distortion World, a dimension opposite to the Pokémon world, where laws of physics are distorted. Giratina has two forms: Altered Forme, its standard appearance, and Origin Forme, which it assumes when in the Distortion World or holding a Griseous Orb. Its lore often portrays it as a banished deity, a counterpart to Dialga and Palkia, embodying antimatter. In the games, it plays a crucial role in the Sinnoh region's mythology and is a formidable opponent. Its presence in the anime, particularly in movies like "Giratina and the Sky Warrior," further solidifies its image as a powerful and mysterious entity. Giratina's unique dual typing and imposing design have made it a fan favorite, representing a darker, more enigmatic side of the Pokémon universe. It does not evolve from or into any other Pokémon. Its type combination gives it resistances to Poison, Bug, Fire, Water, Grass, and Electric types, but also leaves it vulnerable to Ghost, Ice, Dragon, Dark, and Fairy attacks.
