Cresselia is a Psychic-type legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation IV, known as the Lunar Pokémon. It is said to represent the crescent moon and is the antithesis to Darkrai, the Pitch-Black Pokémon, which embodies new moons and nightmares. Cresselia is often associated with good dreams and the dispelling of nightmares, offering a serene and protective presence. It does not evolve from or into any other Pokémon. In the Sinnoh region, Cresselia can be encountered on Fullmoon Island after helping a boy in Canalave City who is suffering from nightmares. Its signature move, Lunar Dance, heals and restores PP to the user's party. In the anime, Cresselia played a significant role in an episode where it helped Ash and his friends deal with Darkrai's nightmare-inducing powers, showcasing its benevolent nature. Its ethereal appearance, with a graceful, swan-like body and wing-like appendages that emit shimmering particles, makes it a visually striking Pokémon, often depicted soaring through the night sky.
