Combee is a dual Bug/Flying-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IV. It is known as the Tiny Bee Pokémon and is the pre-evolution of Vespiquen. Combee are always found in groups of three, with their hexagonal bodies resembling a honeycomb. Each Combee head has a distinct personality and a slightly different taste in nectar, which they collect and bring back to their hive. They are predominantly female, with only one in every eight Combee being male. This gender disparity is significant because only female Combee can evolve into the queen Pokémon, Vespiquen, at level 21. Combee are typically found living in forests and near flowering plants, diligently gathering honey for their colony. In the anime, Combee are often depicted as hardworking and sometimes mischievous, contributing to the daily life of their hive. Their design is a clear homage to honeybees, emphasizing their communal nature and role in pollination within the Pokémon world.
