Clefairy, the Fairy Pokémon, is a beloved and iconic creature first introduced in Generation I. Known for its charming demeanor and elusive nature, Clefairy is often depicted living in quiet, mountainous regions, particularly at night under the light of the full moon, which is believed to be its power source. Its diet primarily consists of dew from flowers and berries. Clefairy is known to be very shy, rarely appearing before humans, and uses its large ears to detect even the faintest sounds. When startled, it can use a move called "Metronome" which randomly chooses another move to perform. Clefairy evolves from Cleffa when leveled up with high friendship during the night, and then evolves into Clefable when exposed to a Moon Stone. In the games, Clefairy is a Normal-type Pokémon (later reclassified as Fairy-type in Generation VI), making it resistant to Fighting-type attacks and immune to Dragon-type attacks, though vulnerable to Poison and Steel. In the anime, Clefairy, particularly the group led by the leader from Mt. Moon, played a significant role in early episodes, often interacting with Ash and his friends, and contributing to the mystique surrounding rare Pokémon. Its adorable appearance and unique celestial connection have cemented its place as a fan favorite and a cultural icon within the Pokémon franchise.
