Bidoof, the Plump Mouse Pokémon, is a Normal-type creature introduced in Generation IV with the release of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. Its ability to learn a wide array of Hidden Machines (HMs) like Cut, Surf, Strength, and Rock Smash earned it the affectionate nickname "HM Slave" among players, highlighting its utility in navigating the game world. In the anime, Bidoof often appears as a background Pokémon, showcasing its natural behaviors, but it has also had episodic roles that emphasize its hard work and sometimes clumsy, yet ultimately successful, efforts. Culturally, Bidoof has become something of an internet meme, celebrated for its perceived "derpiness" and its unexpected versatility, cementing its place as an iconic, if understated, Pokémon. Its Normal typing gives it a straightforward matchup, being weak only to Fighting-type moves and resistant to none, while also being immune to Ghost-type attacks.
