Dugtrio, the Mole Pokémon, is a Ground-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It is the evolved form of Diglett, transforming from a single mole-like creature into a trio of them, sharing a single body underground. Their natural habitat is typically underground, in caves, forests, or plains, where the soil is soft enough for them to burrow. They are rarely seen above ground, only surfacing to feed on roots or to bask in the sun, though even then, only their heads are visible. In the games, Dugtrio's high Speed stat and Arena Trap ability (which prevents opponents from fleeing) make it a strategic choice for trapping and swiftly defeating certain Pokémon. In the anime, Dugtrio often appear as mischievous or elusive creatures, sometimes causing trouble with their tunneling. Culturally, Dugtrio embodies the concept of teamwork and quick action, with its three heads working in unison. As a Ground-type, it is strong against Fire, Electric, Poison, Rock, and Steel types, but weak against Water, Grass, and Ice types. Its unique appearance and rapid digging ability have made it a memorable Pokémon since its debut.
