Togedemaru is an Electric/Steel type Pokémon introduced in Generation VII, native to the Alola region. Known as the Roly-Poly Pokémon, its spherical body is covered in spiky fur that it can extend at will, especially when feeling threatened. Togedemaru typically rolls around to move, using its tail as an antenna to absorb electricity, which it then stores within its body. Its diet primarily consists of berries, which it often finds by sniffing them out in grassy fields. In the wild, Togedemaru are social creatures, often seen in groups. They are known for their playful nature but can be surprisingly formidable when provoked, discharging powerful electrical attacks. In the anime, Togedemaru gained prominence as Sophocles' partner Pokémon, showcasing its adorable yet feisty personality. Its unique typing gives it resistances to many common types, though it is particularly vulnerable to Ground-type attacks. Togedemaru does not evolve from or into any other Pokémon, making it a standalone species. Its design draws inspiration from a hedgehog combined with a pin cushion, embodying a cute yet prickly demeanor.
