Simisage is a Grass-type Pokémon introduced in Generation V, evolving from Pansage when exposed to a Leaf Stone. Known as the Thorn Monkey Pokémon, Simisage is characterized by its vibrant green fur, long leafy tail, and the distinctive leaf growing on its head, which is said to be very bitter. These Pokémon are often found in lush forests and jungles, where they can easily blend into their surroundings. Their diet primarily consists of fruits and berries, which they gather using their agile limbs and prehensile tails. In the wild, Simisage are known for their lively and sometimes aggressive behavior, particularly when defending their territory or their young. They are often depicted swinging through trees with remarkable speed and agility. In the Pokémon games, Simisage is one of the elemental monkeys, alongside Panpour and Pansear, and their evolutions, Simipour and Simisear, which were given to players early in their journey through the Unova region depending on their starter Pokémon. In the anime, Cilan, one of Ash's companions, owns a Pansage that eventually evolves into Simisage, showcasing its battle prowess and loyal personality. Simisage contributes to the diverse ecosystem of the Pokémon world as a medium-sized primate, playing a role in seed dispersal and maintaining forest health.
