In the Pokémon games, Gloom is a staple of early-game Grass-type teams, offering a balance of offensive and defensive capabilities. In the anime, Erika, the Gym Leader of Celadon City, is famously associated with a Gloom, highlighting its elegance despite its pungent scent. Its evolutions, Vileplume and Bellossom, represent a divergence in design and type, with Vileplume maintaining the Grass/Poison typing and Bellossom becoming a pure Grass type, reflecting different aspects of floral beauty.
