Axew is a pure Dragon-type Pokémon introduced in Generation V, hailing from the Unova region. It is known as the Tusk Pokémon due to the prominent tusks on either side of its mouth, which are used to mark its territory by leaving gashes in trees. Axew evolves into Fraxure starting at level 38, and then into Haxorus starting at level 48, completing a powerful Dragon-type evolution line. In the anime, Ash Ketchum’s companion Iris owns an Axew, making it a beloved and recognizable character. Its diet primarily consists of berries and other plant matter, which it can easily chop with its tusks. Axew are typically found in forests and caves, often practicing their tusking skills. As a Dragon-type, Axew has type advantages against other Dragon types and takes super effective damage from Ice, Dragon, and Fairy-type moves, while resisting Fire, Water, Grass, and Electric types. Its gentle yet determined nature makes it a fan favorite, embodying the spirit of growth and resilience within the Pokémon world.
