Dondozo

Dondozo, the Big Catfish Pokémon, is a large Water-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IX, native to the Paldea region. Known for its immense size and somewhat intimidating appearance, Dondozo is often depicted as a gluttonous creature with a surprisingly clumsy nature. Despite its formidable size, Dondozo is not particularly adept at hunting on its own, which has led to a unique symbiotic relationship with Tatsugiri, a smaller Dragon/Water-type Pokémon. Tatsugiri, often found in Dondozo's mouth, directs its larger partner to prey, and in return, shares the meal. This cooperative hunting strategy is a hallmark of Dondozo's behavior in the wild, showcasing a fascinating example of interspecies collaboration in the Pokémon world. Its natural habitat includes large bodies of water such as lakes and rivers, where its substantial size allows it to dominate its aquatic environment. In the games, Dondozo plays a significant role as a Titan Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, challenging players with its power and unique partnership with Tatsugiri. Its design draws inspiration from catfish and traditional Japanese culinary artistry, particularly sushi, reflecting its Paldean origins. Dondozo does not evolve from or into any other Pokémon, standing as a singular, powerful entity in the Paldean ecosystem.
